Colours and styles may come and go with the changing seasons, and what is in one year may be unacceptable the next, but one thing remains a constant in the world of fashion. The need to protect the environment, conserve natural resources and save the earth is as relevant in fashion as it is in all walks of life, which makes green clothing ‘the in thing’ this summer, autumn, winter and through to next year as well.


What looks good on the high street and in catalogues won’t necessarily look or feel good on you if you don’t know where it has come from and who has been exploited in the making of it. So many high street retailers and big brand fashion names have been tainted with their association with sweat shops and underpaid workers, which is why it’s important to ensure that fairtrade fashion is supported and organic clothes are worn with pride. After all, it’s your planet as well.

Looking for the fair trade fashion mark should be just as important as any fashion name or brand if you are to wear your fashion with a good, clear conscience. Only by supporting fairtrade fashion can you make sure that fashion industry doesn’t leave any victims behind.
